The Crop Protection Network

Picture
The Crop Protection Network (CPN) is a multi-state and international partnership of university and provincial Extension specialists, and public and private professionals that provides unbiased, research-based information. Our goal is to communicate relevant information to farmers and agricultural personnel to help with decisions related to protecting alfalfa, corn, cotton, small grains, and soybean.

Through multi-state and international efforts, the CPN enhances the visibility and success of agricultural extension while providing important crop protection information to farmers, agribusiness, and educators.

Tools available through CPN include the following:
  • Yield loss calculator (corn, cotton, soy, and wheat)
  • Severity estimation tool (corn, including ear rot, and soy)
  • Fungicide ROI Calculator
  • Bean Binoculars, a map showing soy production issues throughout the growing season
  • Fungicide Efficacy tool
  • 3D tools for disease and insect severity

How much is SCN stealing?

Soybean cyst nematode (SCN) is the most damaging pathogen of soybeans in North America. Now, farmers and their crop advisors can estimate the economic toll of SCN in an individual field with the SCN Coalition's new calculator - the SCN Profit Checker.

This user-friendly tool combines field-specific information and data from checkoff-funded university research plots to calculate potential field and profit losses in real dollars and cents.
